Five characters for Industria Mechanika's collector catalogue, sculpted in ZBrush for resin production — the Ukulele Girl, the Bear, the Boatman and the Girl. Built from Lorenzo Etherington's 2D designs, and the series that took ZBrush Top Row in 2019.

Stranski started with Lorenzo Etherington's illustrations, and my job was carrying his line into three dimensions without flattening it. Cartoonists make decisions that only work from one angle. Finding the version that survives a full turnaround is most of the work in a translation like this.
Five figures, one world
Each figure needed its own identity while still belonging to the same set. The full-lineup render is where you can see whether that worked — five very different characters that still look like they came from the same place.
Sculpted for resin, not for renders
The scale-model turnarounds sit next to the presentation renders in the gallery, and the difference matters. Form decisions here were driven by what resin casting allows, not by what looks best in one beauty shot.
