Collectibles & Miniatures
I sculpt collectible figures and scale miniatures for resin kits, limited runs, and 3D-print handoff. Model kits with Industria Mechanika, fanart pieces, and a Hangar 18 miniature — work where wall thickness and mould splits matter.
Stranski
I co-sculpted this model kit series with Lorenzo Etherington for Industria Mechanika. Multiple characters in one resin line — each built for niche collector scale and kit assembly.
View project page →Batgirl
DC-inspired Batgirl fanart I sculpted in ZBrush for collector presentation and miniature output. CG Society Hall of Fame, 2020.
View project page →Vicky Victorian Angels
A Victorian angel figure I developed as a premium collectible — softer, more figurine than action-figure proportions.
View project page →Specialty Girl
Scale miniature for Hangar 18 Miniatures. I kept resin-casting constraints in mind while refining form in Modo and ZBrush.
View project page →Mermaid
Standalone mermaid collectible — fantasy figure sculpt where surface detail had to read at display scale. Full project page on annaschmelzer.com.
View project page →Toy Design — Bayala
Roughly a decade sculpting for Schleich's Bayala fantasy line — elves, mermaids, pegasus pairs, Meamare sea creatures. Every piece had to survive injection moulding, SLA resin prototypes, and a child's hands.
Hippocampus — Meamare
Hippocampus mare and Sea Unicorn foal for Bayala Meamare — hybrid horse-fish anatomy, gold-accented mane, translucent fin geometry. Built for the Magical Underwater Tournament playset.
View project page →Blossom Pegasus
Winged horse with flower and crystal detail across wings and mane. I had to keep delicate geometry structurally sound for injection moulding and child-safe handling.
View project page →Gabriella Mermaid
Gabriella mermaid with horse companion — full sculpt for Schleich, presented in Octane from front, back, and three-quarter views.
View project page →Feya on Pegasus
Feya riding Butterfly Pegasus — character and creature sculpt for Schleich's Bayala line, rendered in Octane.
View project page →Pegasus
Bayala Pegasus and foal for Schleich — ZBrush sculpt with orthographic views and close-up detail passes for mould review.
View project page →Femaya
Bayala elf Femaya for Schleich — stylised sculpt with clay renders and multiple angle passes for toy review.
View project page →Venuja
Bayala elf Venuja — toy sculpt with clay study renders and final presentation passes under different lighting.
View project page →Portrait & Likeness
Portrait and likeness work from photo-reference studies to commercial identity suites — Audrey Hepburn, the Toyfight team, Radcat studio heads. Some pieces won awards; others were experiments in surface and form.
Portrait with Flowers
Hyperrealistic ZBrush portrait with a hand-sculpted chrysanthemum, dahlia, and hydrangea crown. Botanical detail at the same anatomical rigour as the face — rendered in Blender Cycles.
View project page →Frankenstein's Monster
Gothic horror character study — ZBrush sculpt of suture lines and complex skin surface under dramatic light. Developed alongside my Framestore London shotsculpting work.
View project page →Toyfight Portrait Series
Portrait series for Toyfight — likeness sculpts of team members in ZBrush for brand identity and internal creative use.
View project page →Portrait with Waves
Hyperrealistic portrait with hand-sculpted wave-form hair and multi-layer SSS skin in Blender Cycles. ZBrush Top Row 2021, CG Society Hall of Fame, 3D World Magazine.
View project page →Escheresque
Abstract portrait experiment — Escher-inspired surface fragmentation where portrait form meets surrealist visual language.
View project page →Radcat Studio Portraits
Portrait sculpt series for Radcat Design Studio — front, side, and 45° views per subject in a multi-head identity suite.
View project page →Audrey Hepburn
Likeness sculpt of Audrey Hepburn in ZBrush — focused on facial anatomy and how the face reads at portrait distance.
View project page →Clair
Likeness sculpt of Clair — disciplined turnaround views paired with stylised butterfly-crown presentation renders.
View project page →Stylized Characters
Stylised character work: animation-facing designs, creature sculpts, and the personal projects nobody commissioned. This is where I test things — the Hipster, the Chupacabra, Chandelier Girl. Some of it is old. All of it taught me something I still use.
Chandelier Girl
Stylised female character with a strong silhouette — featured on ZBrush Central, shown in colour and B&W presentation renders.
View project page →Girl in Glass
Character sculpt where I explored glass material reads and form — documented through WIP screenshots and final renders.
View project page →Hipster
Animation-ready stylised character, sculpted with and without the glasses so either version could be used. One of the older pieces people still write to me about.
View project page →Jumping Cow
Lighthearted anatomy study — a jumping cow that pushed proportional distortion and a clean readable silhouette.
View project page →Chupacabra
Creature design study of the mythological Chupacabra — stylised anatomy and surface detail from an early personal project.
View project page →Goth Girl
Stylised character illustration with dark editorial tone — ZBrush surface detail and atmospheric render treatment.
View project page →Yeti
Yeti creature sculpt — hero portrait plus three-view orthographic sheet showing design intent and surface anatomy.
View project page →Game Characters & Real-Time
Real-time character work — a ZBrush fencer built for WebGL browser rendering with textured mesh, and the Toyfight website character suite in Blender and ZBrush.
ZBrush Fencer
Real-time fencer I modelled for WebGL browser rendering — textured mesh covering cloth, armour, helmet, and épée detail.
View project page →Toyfight Website Characters
Character suite for the Toyfight interactive website — multiple characters, props, facial expressions, and poses in Blender and ZBrush.
